Keeping Up

Hello all, I am doing my best to keep it up, I have been under the 1200 calories almost all week except today, today, I went to 1334, but I still stayed under 1500 calories.

I really need to prepare better, sure, I can eat what I want as long as I stay under 1200 calories, but I’m really not making good decisions, sometimes I have cookies and cupcakes for dinner, and though satisfying at the time, this is not really sustaining me.

I am in such a slump, look at me, blogging about many diets, then changing my mind and staying on one low calorie diet, I really need a life…I like the idea of blogging, but I wanted it be interesting, and I know that it isn’t.

I haven’t been keeping up with it, and I know that no one is interested in what poor food choices that I made staying under 1200 calories, they want something that gives them hope, something that they can relate to and something where they can learn and take things from, not just my little rant about how badly I ate and how I stayed under a certain caloric goal.

This blog needs another over haul, I haven’t decided how to do it, but I am going to become more interesting, offer more pertinent information, and come up with more thought provoking dialogue.  This will be my new life, and I will be a whole new Jenn.

I may only post once a week, but I will do my best to capture your hearts, and interest you the reader rather than making daily entries that aren’t at all interesting.

If anyone has some good tips and tricks for me, I’d love to hear them.

Good evening all, today, I was able to stay under the 1200 calorie goal, and even had a cupcake…

Breakfast – 1 orange and 1 cup of watermelon – 136 calories

Lunch – can of Campbell’s chicken noodle soup and 12 saltine crackers – 321

Dinner – Jane’s Chicken Burger, hamburger bun and 1 tablespoon of mayo – 395

Snack – Cupcake with icing, home-made Duncan Hines – 255

Total Calories – 1107

Tomorrow the focus will be to drink more water, I am also going to start using my Green Coffee Bean supplement again and see how that turns out.  Also, I would like to add more green tea and hot lemon water into my life, I just need to find times to incorporate these items.

The other thing that I am doing is not eating anything past 7:00.  I am hoping that this will help, as I am a snacker and I love to snack at night.

Baby steps though, my main goal is staying under 1200 calories, so that is the first priority, if I can add other healthy habits along the way, I will and I will try.

Ok, things aren’t working…I know things aren’t working because I put way more weight back on then I am actually taking off.  About 5 or 6 years ago, I lost a ton of weight and went down to 119 pounds.  I did it by specifically staying under 1200 calories at all times.

From time to time, I might throw in a diet to help me get down a little before a special event, but from here on out, I am going to try just staying at or under 1200 calories a day.

I still need to be accountable and will be listing my 1200 calorie day here…I am also very bad at dieting, so this is not a diet that I want people to follow, this is just what I eat in a day to get by – it’s a mix of healthy and well…not so much…

Breakfast:  1 TBSP peanut butter, muti-grain bread – 1 slice – 190 calories (pretty healthy to start the day)

Lunch:  Whole Almonds 1/3 of a cup and a banana – 400 calories (had no idea what to have for lunch and I love grab and go things)

Dinner:  4 slices fried bacon, 2 whole fried eggs – 340 (breakfast for dinner, love it!! )

Snacks: 1 cup watermelon, one single Ferrer0 Rocher Chocolate, and a tiny Halloween size pack of Nibs – 149 (ok, so I snack badly – well, watermelon is healthy, but the rest, this is the stuff that keeps me going.)

Total Calories:  1080 (Little light on calories today, but I’m not hungry)

Today I weighed in at 159.5 – yup – I put on a whole ton of weight this weekend, and we are going to put a stop to that right now, this 1200 calorie diet will hold for weekends and I will count alcohol if I have to.

I feel good, I’m not hungry and have had lots of water, any way, it’s time for bed.

Good morning, I have to say, I am a little disappointed, I only lost 2 pounds on this diet.

Start Weight: 157

Today’s Weight: 155

Total Weight Loss:  2 measly pounds…

Final Summary:

Hunger:  Not typically hungry, as there aren’t any limits to what you can eat.

Convenience:  It can be easy, but there is some preparation, nothing is really grab and go, yesterday, I cooked steak in the morning and had it for breakfast, and lunch, because I ran out of eggs and tuna, but had I not taken the steak out, then I would have had to defrost some sort of protein.

Regularity:  First few days I was very constipated, however, I have been regular the best two mornings.

Variety:  You can eat pretty much any protein, and a variety of vegetables, and what you can have is unlimited, but it does lack carbs, sugar including fruits and dairy.

Overall Rating:  38/50 = 76%

Atkins lost points because of how constipated I was, but the diet is easy to follow and I believe that if you stay on it and make it a long term goal and part of your lifestyle, you will do well on this diet.  Most food is unlimited, so you shouldn’t be hungry, however,  you do need to have a little preparation for your meals.

I am going to continue this one today, and possibly tomorrow, outside of the drinking, and likely eating something full of carbs, I am going to do the best I can.

Tomorrow, I am invited to a baby shower, again, I will be trying to do the best I can, but because of my will power, I do let life get in the way.

Sunday, I will be on a new diet that will take me right up to Halloween, not sure what that one will be yet, but I will keep you posted!

Today was a really good day, a really, really good day, I finally “went”  and feel so much better.

Also, I had steak for breakfast and lunch, and I went to a convention, I didn’t have anything to eat there, and I turned down half a Krispy Kreme donut at Costco, it really was a good day.

Breakfast:  Steak (1/2 of a strip loin)

Lunch:  Steak (the other half of the strip loin), cucumbers

Snack: Almonds

Dinner:  Thinly sliced beef, mushrooms and onions, fried – kind of Korean BBQ style, at my dad’s house – but I didn’t have any rice.

Tomorrow, I will continue this diet, but, I will be out for the night and drinking with my best friend.  So, I will do my weigh in and full summary tomorrow morning, today was a 10/10.

Good evening, all, today is day 4 of the Atkin’s diet and so far, no cheats, and all is going well.  The only issue is that I still haven’t gone…I’m not in any pain, but really, I think that I should be going after 3 days on this diet.

Today my menu was as follows:

Breakfast:  2 Eggs, hard boiled

Lunch:  Egg Salad – hard boiled eggs with mayo and cucumber

Snack:  Almonds for both snacks

Dinner:  Sole fish, cooked with a bit of butter and seasonings (maybe a small cheat)

I think that the summary breakdown will be a little much to do everyday, but today, I am going to give it another 6/10 I’ve now been constipated for 3 days, so that brings the scoring down.  Outside of that, it is easy to keep up, and to be honest, I don’t have any cravings which is a good thing.

Off I go, I need to clean up a bit while I wait for banana breads to come out of the oven…No, none for me!  🙂

Today was a good day in a sense that there was no cheating, however, I still haven’t “gone” and my stomach hurt a lot after dinner today.

Breakfast:  2 hard boiled eggs

Lunch:  Tuna with mayo, and cucumbers

Snack:  Almonds – I had 2 handfuls, one in the morning and one in the afternoon

Dinner:  Prime Rib Steak and green beans

My ratings are as follows:

Convenience:  Relatively easy, most foods are available, but I have to cook or prepare anything that I am taking with me, not easy to grab and go.

Regularity:  I’m definitely not getting enough fibre, and haven’t gone yet, also I had a bit of a stomach ache and I don’t know if that is related, felt like a little indigestion

Variety:  Again, I am quite happy, not a lot of variety, but I like what I am having and not really missing anything – I had a prime rib steak, it was great.

Well Being – Today, I am feeling a little crappy, just my stomach pains, and it is likely because I am a constipated, but hopefully that will clear up overnight.

Overall Rating:  I am going to have to drop a couple of points, 6/10 today and we’ll see how I am feeling tomorrow.

The diet itself is going well, I even made my son popcorn, and didn’t have any which is always a good sign that the diet is going well, I just wish I was going well….
