Session 2

momentum

Today, I met with my social worker again, he asked me to write my life story for him and have it ready for next Tuesday when we meet again.  Today, was the first day in a long time that I didn’t binge eat.  Not one cookie, no chocolate, no chips, and no crap.

I probably had a little too much for dinner, which was rice, chicken teriyaki, and some Japanese condiments, with green tea but the small win for today is I made dinner.

My other small win, I went for a walk with the kids, my son rode his scooter, and my daughter and I walked and talked, it was nice, I am hoping that getting out more will help my mood.  The walk was 3.82 km, and I was a little out of breath but this was the first walk in a long time, in fact, this was the closest thing to cardio for a very long time, but I am hoping to get out to do this or another route at least 4 days a week to start.

I wanted to find out how far I was walking so I signed up to Map My Walk:  http://www.mapmywalk.com/ Let me know what you think of this program.

This evening, I have been writing my life story, I am doing it in pen, and I will be blogging each section, to assist me in getting things out.  Apparently, I can talk, but I don’t feel my emotions, when I speak my story.  I don’t know how better to do this, but I am going to do my best to get things out, and do my best to feel me getting these things out.

Wish me luck!

  1. YAY! We will take any and all the WINS we can! Walking is an awesome form of exercise!

When I go with the pups, I use my FitBit tracker and two apps that donate money to animal rescues or shelters.

Remember, slow and steady will see us meeting our goals!

    WE GOT THIS!

    1. I keep telling myself that…just keep going, lately I’ve been saying to myself – Self, you just got to get up and do something, anything…lol

Today was another good day too, and another walk – I started tracking my steps again using my ancient iPod Shuffle – how is the Fitbit? I was looking into that and what is that other one Up2? Something like that? Let me know how you like it.

      1. I do like the FitBit. It logs your steps, activity (i.e. walking, aerobics, elliptical, etc), sleep, miles walked, floors climbed and many other things. I have the FitBit Charge HR. It’s the one that monitors your heart rate.

YAY to another good day! Even if you just get up and walk around the block twice, you are still getting A LOT further than someone who is doing nothing at all!

I’m proud of you! You are totally doing this!

      2. I am way over in my calories, but no binging, and I did walk. I also put a new app on my phone called Record, it syncs with Map My Walk and My Fitness Pal, and I am hoping that it will be helpful as well. Fitbit is too rich for my blood right now, but I have it on the list of things I need to get sooner than later, thanks for the input! 🙂

      3. UGH! So am I! I have not even logged everything I’ve eaten today, either! 😦 I’m proud you were able to walk and did not binge! It IS doable. We just need to take everything one day at a time!

I use My Fitness Pal, too. I have ResQWalk and WalkForADog, also. They donate to animal shelters or rescue organizations every time I walk. It is another motivational tool for me.

If it wasn’t for the Wellness Program at work and my son-in-law, I would not be having a FitBit, that’s for sure!

It will definitely be a wise investment.

      4. I logged most of it, but only because I haven’t logged in months, and I figured I needed to actually start logging so I can start fixing. We can do this, you can do this, you are doing so awesome, you keep me going, and I love that.

      5. I have been pretty good about logging my food for the most part. Although, over the past few days I have become a slacker in that area. I log only what I feel like and not what I have actually eaten. 😦

We are a team! If we are not, then we can make one! 🙂
